Givers of Care Funds

For nearly a decade, the Givers of Care Funds (formerly the Employee Assistance Fund), have had a dramatic impact on the lives of many employees – providing assistance to help employees avoid housing foreclosure, to heat their homes during cold winter months, to repair a car that suddenly breaks down, or to meet numerous other needs. The Givers of Care Funds truly reflect Foxdale’s mission to provide a supportive work environment for employees and is evidence that Foxdale appreciates the talents and contributions of team members.

All Foxdale employees, in their own unique and compassionate way, are Givers of Care. Three no-interest loan funds have provided nearly 115 loans totaling over $100,000.

The Lend a Hand Fund

Established as the Employee Assistance Fund in 2001 with a gift of $200
Short-term loans to address unplanned expenses such as car repair or travel to visit a family member who is ill
Over 90 loans have been provided

The Housing Fund

Established by the board in 2008 with $25,000 from Foxdale reserves
Assists with expenses such as down payments, foreclosure avoidance, and energy-saving home improvements
Six employees have received support ranging from $1,600 to $2,500

The Education Fund

Established in 2008 with an anonymous gift of $10,000
Loans help cover education costs beyond funds available in the operating budget
Enables staff to further existing or acquire new skills they might use in a current position or to further their career by taking coursework, earning a certificate, etc

Gifts to the Givers of Care Funds given by individual donors totaled $2,260 in calendar year 2011.
