Enhancing Resident Independence: Water-Based Exercise

Can you think of many other things that can improve all of the following?

The CDC states that water-based exercise can benefit and even stave off chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, and improve or maintain bone health in post menopausal women (bone health). In fact, all older adults can benefit, particularly those who otherwise use wheelchairs to ambulate.

Foxdale currently provides access to water-based exercise for residents able to travel to the YMCA. An on-site pool would enable all residents, regardless of ability, to participate in and benefit from water-based exercise to revel in this life-enhancing activity.

Current construction cost for the therapy pool is $1 million. In addition to welcoming contributions for construction, Foxdale invites gifts to create and endowed fund which would support the ongoing maintenance and staffing of the therapy pool.
