DESCRIPTION:Foxdale Village welcomes Pat Dolan to the second floor art gallery. The show and reception are free and open to the public. Pat Dolan\, holds a BA in Art and Education\, and has spent her career creating and teaching in a wide range of mediums\, including watercolor\, pastel\, colored pencil\, and pen & ink. Her time in New Jersey inspired her to return to art quilting\, while her years back in rural Pennsylvania have shaped her reputation as a realistic watercolorist. She is especially recognized for her portraits of birds and cats\, as well as still lifes\, flowers\, and rural landscapes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisiting hours are from 8:00am – 5:00pm weekdays and from noon until 4:00pm on weekends\, January 7 – March 23\, 2025. SUMMARY:The Global Effect of Climate Change on Human Health
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Brian King is Professor and Head of the Department of Geography at Penn State. His research\, teaching\, and outreach focus on livelihoods\, conservation and development\, environmental change\, and human health. He holds affiliations across the university\, including with the Population Research Institute\, the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute\, the School of International Affairs\, and the Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse.Dr. King is also an honorary research associate with the African Climate and Development Initiative at the University of Cape Town and was selected as a National Academy of Sciences Kavli Fellow in 2017. In addition\, he serves as the Nature and Society editor for The Annals of the American Association of Geographers.In this talk\, Dr. King will examine how climate change is reshaping human health\, from heat exposure and food insecurity to extreme weather events\, with attention to uneven impacts and community resilience.This program is free and open to the public.
