May 12 @ 8:00 am – July 5 @ 5:00 pm
Foxdale Village welcomes Art Heim to the second floor art gallery. The show and reception are free and open to the public.
Drawing from a lifetime of exploration and service, Art Heim’s work reflects a profound commitment to both people and place. A post‑retirement journey with the U.S. Peace Corps became the spark for a dedicated photographic practice, offering the opportunity to capture the beauty, resilience, and spirit of African communities alongside the raw wildness of their surroundings. Photography emerged as both an artistic language and a means of sharing these powerful experiences with others.
Since returning from Africa in 2010, Heim has traveled widely, working in Africa, Nepal, Southeast Asia, Europe, Central America, and across North America to document the natural, human, and built environments of our world. With a strong graphic sensibility, the work highlights the uniqueness of landscapes, wildlife, and cultures, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find joy in the richness of our shared planet. All photographs are carefully printed, matted, and framed by the artist using archival materials and professional techniques, ensuring each piece is both visually striking and enduring. This exhibition at Foxdale Village offers a chance to experience these journeys through thoughtfully crafted images meant to be enjoyed and remembered.

Visiting hours are from 8:00am – 5:00pm weekdays and from noon until 4:00pm on weekends, May 12 – July 5, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Sunday, May 17 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.
